Nothing is more important than your health, safety and welfare.
Free health and safety advice for workers, trade unionists and safety reps across Greater Manchester and the North West. And the home of the National Hazards Conference.
We are a not-for-profit centre that campaigns, lobbies and advises workers on health, safety and welfare at work. Because nobody should leave work in a worse state than when they arrived.

Nobody has to face it alone.
We bring health and safety reps together from across the North West to share problems and what worked. Whatever is happening at your workplace, someone in the network has probably faced something like it before.

Ask us about your workplace.
Worried about a hazard at work, your rights, or what your employer must do? Call us. Our advice is free for every worker and trade unionist in the North West.
Help for workers and safety reps
Anyone with a worry about safety at work can come to us. We work alongside trade unions, safety reps and families across the region.

The 38th National Hazards Conference
The Hazards Conference is the biggest gathering of safety reps and campaigners in the country. For one weekend a year, workers come together to learn, share what works, and plan the next campaigns.
There are plenary sessions, main and fringe meetings, workshops and stalls, and awards for the best health and safety campaigns and for the worst employers.
The 2027 conference will be at Keele University. It runs from 3rd to 5th September 2027. Register now and we will send you everything as soon as bookings open.
Support the centre: become an affiliate
Trade union branches, regions, trades councils and individuals can affiliate, from £5. Affiliates hear about our meetings and events, and keep our advice free for every worker.
